Principal’s Newsletter 3/17/22

As salaamu ‘alaikum ICN Noor Academy Families,

The ICN board has approved 4th grade for next fall, al hamdulillah.  The plan includes converting the current storage room next to the gym into a classroom.  Solutions for the following year and 5th grade will be discussed over the summer inshaAllah.

InshaAllah, Registration for 3rd and 4th grade will be reopened shortly and you will be notified when you can hop on to the portal to complete re-enrollment.  Ms. Farhana is contacting those who were on the waiting list for 2nd grade with status and instructions on registering.

We are excited to offer an after school art class that begins after Ramadan!  We are partnering with Young Rembrandts to try out a seven week class that will be held once a week, right after school, and right here at school.  A flyer with registration information will be sent out in the next couple of weeks inshaAllah.

With COVID metrics finally in the green, we are cautiously opening the doors to a short family event next week.  Welcome Ramadan will be a chance to come to school and let your child show you around the classroom and school.  You can learn about what students have been doing to prepare for Ramadan, as well as the other things they have been doing and learning at school.  Since this is a larger gathering and school event, masks will be required for all.

Please note that the days scheduled as Ramadan and Eid holidays on the current school calendar are subject to minor change depending on the day that Ramadan begins.  If a change is made, you will be notified at the beginning of Ramadan.

There are two changes with respect to weekly COVID testing. (1) The testing company is switching to a different lab after next week, and (2) The government is no longer covering the cost of the tests, starting March 22.

This means that another consent form will be sent for you to sign and return, but this time you will be required to provide your insurance information.  There should be NO co-pay or out of pocket cost to you, however, the testing company will bill your insurance.  A separate email including this information and the new consent form has been sent.  At this time the school will continue to REQUIRE COVID testing, but instead of weekly testing, it will be less frequent.  Please be on the lookout for a separate email with more details about testing.

Finally, we would like to extend our thanks to this week’s picture day volunteers.  Huma Adnan, Mehnaz Hassan, Nilofar Shaikh, Humeera Shaik, Faiza Noman, and Rafiya Quadri, THANK YOU for your help this week!
