Principal’s Newsletter 1/13/22

As Salaamu ‘Alaikum ICN Noor Academy Families,

Welcome back – we hope you had a safe and relaxing winter break!  Thank you for completing COVID testing to ensure the kids are back in school safely. For those who were asked to wait until test results were cleared, thank you for your patience.

Reminder:  Please submit a copy or photo of your child’s vaccination card to ftsadmin@icnmasjid.org by tomorrow.  If your child is not vaccinated please send an email to the same address stating that your child has not yet gotten the COVID-19 vaccination.

SPIRIT WEEK is coming up on Jan 24th, so get ready for a wacky week without uniforms!  There is still a week to prepare, and here are this year’s themes:

Yesterday ISBE handed down revised guidelines regarding COVID-19-related isolation and quarantine, including the Governor’s latest executive order.      The school makes its policies based on these standards, keeping in mind the safety of all students, teachers, and staff.  There are times when school policy may be more conservative than the CDC, as we would rather err on the side of caution.  We hope everyone considers that sending a sick child to school puts others at risk.  For your reference, the executive order is linked here https://www.isbe.net/Documents/EO-2022-03.pdf and the communication from ISBE is linked here http://link.isbe.net/m/1/90208844/02-b22011-f5719ee085ea4964a864663b8560c647/3/496/0b62ec88-33bf-4f60-96e3-00d9edc9ae21
If you prefer something a little less tedious, however, please refer to the flowchart for our school, below.  (This is also published on the school website, on the COVID policy page.)

Thank you, salaam, and have a wonderful weekend,
