Principal’s Newsletter 4/9/21

The second week of hybrid learning is complete, al hamdulillah.  It seems students and teachers are adjusting quickly to the new routines and schedules.  School and classroom management are a continuous process, so we are always evaluating our methods for improvement, or to resolve problems.  Any success we experience is also a result of the teamwork between the school and family.  We thank you all for your responsiveness and making sure your children are prepared for school regardless of being in person or online.  Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher if you have concerns.

Spring Conferences are scheduled for next Thursday and Friday.  Spring conferences are online and by request only, either by teacher or parents.  If you would like to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher please email her to set an appointment.

We have increased the enrollment cap to 15 students per classroom.  Despite this, however, there is a waiting list for Kindergarten and 1st Grade.  We are working with ICN leadership to work out ways to accommodate the students on the list in the safest way.  InshaAllah, in another week we should be able to provide an update on the wait list status.  (Public school cannot refuse a seat for your child, so there is no problem with remaining on ICN’s wait list a bit longer.)

We have just learned that ICN Free Clinic is having a mass COVID-19 vaccination this Monday, April 12th, between 9am and 5pm.  The event will take place in the gym.  The even organizers have committed to keeping the flow of people limited to the gym and gym entrance only.  No bathrooms will be shared with our students or teachers.  There will be a partition blocking people from entering the school area. For Noor Academy families it will be a normal school day, however, if you are uncomfortable because of this event you may opt for your child to attend school online on Monday.  Please let your class teacher know if you choose to do so.

We look forward to the blessed month of Ramadan.  We hope to make it a special month at school, and pray that all our families have a month full of special blessings, and accepted deeds and duas!
